Common questions
The eight that come up most often.
Is a video appointment as good as an in-person one?
For conversation-based appointments it is generally comparable. For anything that needs to be examined, listened to or measured, it is not, and your provider will usually say so.
Why do results appear before anyone explains them?
Rules in many places now require immediate release. Some portals let you delay release by a day or two if you would rather hear it from a person first.
A result is flagged out of range. Is that bad?
Not necessarily. Ranges cover the middle ninety-five per cent of healthy people, so roughly one test in twenty falls outside by construction. Ask through the portal.
Registration keeps failing. What now?
Usually a mismatch with the details on file, or an expired activation code. Ask for the medical records department rather than general reception.
Can a family member see my records?
Only if you grant proxy access formally. It is worth arranging before it is needed rather than during a crisis.
Are health apps covered by medical privacy rules?
Consumer apps generally are not. They are ordinary companies with ordinary privacy policies, and many share data.
How do I report an error on this site?
Through the contact form, naming the page and what does not match.
Does this site use analytics?
No. Your browser stores one value, recording whether you have seen the notice.
