Why this subject

Health systems moved a great deal of routine contact online in a short period, and the software arrived faster than any explanation of it.

The clinical side is well covered by people qualified to cover it. The software side — joining the call, getting into the portal, understanding what a released result is — mostly is not.

That is the only gap this site addresses. Everything clinical belongs with your own clinician.

How the guides are made

We describe processes that are common across systems rather than the menus of any one provider, because those differ and change.

Where we describe a rule — about records access, or result release — we describe the general position and note that it varies by place.

Drafts are read by someone unfamiliar with the subject. Anything that has to be read twice is rewritten.

What we do not do

We give no medical advice, ever.

We recommend no providers, apps or services and take no commission.

We cannot access, correct or act on anyone's records.

How the site is funded

It is not. There is no advertising, sponsorship or affiliate income.

The editorial group is not a registered company and sells no services.

The pages are static and load nothing from any other minly.
